At STATION GARAGE we take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting and respecting any personal information you share with us. We will only use your personal information for the following purposes, to administer your account and to provide products and services you have requested from us.We will always give you the option not to receive marketing communications from us. We will never send you unsolicited ‘junk’ email or communications, or share your data with anyone else who might. Under the General Data Protection Regulations, which is law from May 2018, we are required to gain your consent as to the methods we can use to contact you. The contents of this statement may change from time to time so you may wish to check this page occasionally to ensure you are still happy to share your information with us.

Who is Station Garage?Station Garage is a family run business established in 1973 and has operated as a ŠKODA dealership serving Sussex and Surrey since 1986, offering new and used car sales and aftersales services.
What information do we collect?We collect information about you or your vehicle when you purchase a new or used ŠKODA from us, book your car into our workshop for service or repair, and when you engage with our website and finance applications.
The information we collect includes some or all of the following:
- Name (including title);
- Address;
- Phone number;
- Date of birth;
- Email address;
- Vehicle information (including registration number, VIN, service reminders, mileage and warranty repair information);
- The date and time you used our services;
- Details of any transactions between you and us
- Where you engage with us in a business context, , we may collect your job title, company contact details (including email addresses), fleet size and company details (some of which we may obtain from an online or public business directories);
- Voice recordings of calls you make to our dealership
- Any information within correspondence you send to us.
Website informationOur website is powered by G-Forces Web Management Limited (“GForces), our third party web services provider. GForces is committed to ensuring that data is processed in accordance with applicable data privacy laws, and is kept secure. GForces is certified to the standard of ISO27001 (an international standard for information security). GForces uses Amazon Web Services , Inc. as its cloud platform provider. All data processed by GForces is stored on Amazon’s web servers in the EEA.
If you visit our websiteWhen someone visits our website, GForces collects standard internet log information (your IP address, browser, and type of device) and details of visitor behaviour patterns (where you joined our site from, the path you take through our site and where you leave). These are stored against unique ids (which are strings of numbers).
GForces collects this information for the legitimate business purpose of monitoring the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, the general geographic location of visitors and engagement levels, which in turn enables it to make improvements to its websites and services, and provide business intelligence. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. It is kept indefinitely.
GForces also uses Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns, which are stored against unique ids (i.e. strings of numbers). We collect this information for the legitimate business purpose of monitoring website traffic and engagement levels, which in turn enables us to make improvements to our website and the way we sell our cars and services. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. It is kept indefinitely.
If you use our enquiry formsWhen you submit information using an online form, GForces processes the data collected and stores it for 31 days for the legitimate business purpose of enabling us to access the information and deal with your request (it is then kept for a further 14 days in GForces’ routine back-ups for business continuity purposes).
We collect the following information:
Name, email address and telephone number for enquiry forms, and will use this to follow up on the reason for which you contacted us. If we then start a relationship with you, your data will be stored in our DMS and used as noted in the rest of this document. If you enter your post code, GForces stores the first part of it (e.g. ‘ME14’ or ‘SW1’) and links it to standard internet log information already collected (it is used for the same purposes as that information, as outlined above).
If you use our LiveChat serviceIf you use our LiveChat service (a service supplied by a third party provider, LogMeIn Inc.) If you use our LiveChat service we will collect any personal information that you volunteer to us. This is used for the legitimate business purpose of handling customer enquiries in real time and then following up in order to resolve them.
This data is stored for 30 days by LogMeIn Inc. to enable us to access the information and deal with your enquiry. LogMeIn stores the information in the US under the EU-US privacy shield framework.]
We use a third party provider, Call It Automotive Limited to support our BoldChat service. Personal information that you volunteer to us via the BoldChat service may be shared with Call It Automotive for the legitimate business purpose of assisting with the handling of customer enquiries and follow ups. Personal information will be stored by Call It Automotive for a maximum of 2 years to enable us to access the information and deal with your enquiry. Call It Automotive stores the information in the EEA.

How are we going to use it?Where you have provided consent:
We may use and process your information to contact you from time to time about
promotions, events, products, services or information which we think may be of interest to you (don’t worry, we won’t inundate you).
You may opt out of any form of marketing by expressing your wish to do so when we check or collect your personal information, or by contacting us directly.
We may share your personal information with our recommended and verified third party partners, so that they can contact you on our behalf, for example to assist us in scheduling your service appointments or invite you to a Station Garage event.
Contractual performanceWe may use and process your personal data where it is necessary to form a contract with you and to fulfil and complete your orders, purchases and any other transactions entered into with us (or one of our authorised partners).
We may contact you as advised by ŠKODA to ensure the ongoing safety and care of your vehicle and any policies are maintained, and the replacement of your vehicle and car care related products. We will register your vehicle keeper details and will cross check your data with DVLA to ensure accurate and timely communication can be made.
Legitimate InterestWe may use and process your personal information where it is necessary to carry out activities for which is it in our legitimate interest as a business to do so.
Sales and enquiries:
- Following up customer enquiries and sales processes (e.g. test drives, appointments, brochures, service queries, product information requests).
- Vehicle supporting services (such as warranty). How long do we keep your data and who are we sharing your information with?We retain your details for a period of 6 years after your relationship with us comes to an end. This is unless you exercise your right to be erased in which case we will only keep your information if there is a legal reason to do so.
We do not sell your information to third parties. However, we may from time to time disclose your information to companies or organisations to which we pass the responsibility to handle services on our behalf: roadside assistance service providers, customer contact centres, mobility providers, direct marketing communications agencies and consultants, event specialists. We ensure any business we work with have security protocols and policies in place which comply with data protection legislation and only disclose personal information which is necessary for them to provide the service they are undertaking on our behalf.
We may share your information with ŠKODA UK in order to fulfil orders, transactions, handle complaints or provide you with a service or information that you have requested.

Access to your informationUnder the General Data Protection Regulations, you have the right to: request copies of your data, rectification of your data, withdraw your consent, erasure of your data, object to us or restrict the processing of your data.
Your right to withdraw consentExcept as required by law, we will not use or disclose your personal information for any purpose for which you have not given your consent or later withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, you agree that in spite of this withdrawal we may continue to use the personal information previously provided to us to the extent that we are contractually obligated to do so and to the extent necessary to enforce any contractual obligations you may have, for example a finance agreement.
