The Fabia sports a natty Pacific Blue colour scheme as standard. A wide range of optional paint finishes are available, including Candy White, Corrida Red, Black Pearl and Topaz Brown. Whichever hue you opt for, it will be perfectly complemented by colour-coded fixtures that include door handles and door mirrors. The latter are electrically adjustable and heated – an example of some of the vehicle’s labour-saving features.
SE grades swap 15-inch steel wheels for alloys of the same size, complete with anti-theft bolts.
A spacious five-seat cabin provides the driver with a height-adjustable position and a height-and-reach-adjustable steering wheel. Standard features include power-operated front windows and smart cubby spaces, such as storage compartments that are located under the vehicle’s front-row seats. A 330-litre boot can be expanded to 1,150 litres simply by folding the Fabia’s rear seats.
SE trims bring a multi-function leather steering wheel, adjustable seating for front-row passengers and air-conditioning.
A 1.0-litre 59bhp petrol engine is fitted as standard, delivering up to 61.4mpg and a 104g/km CO2 emission figure. For even greater fuel-efficiency, a 1.4-litre 74bhp diesel unit – also available for S grades – returns as much as 78.5mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 95g/km. Fuel-saving Stop/Start system is included with all engine options.
A two-speaker sound system includes DAB radio and an AM/FM radio. Bluetooth connectivity and USB and SD inputs are featured as standard too. SE trims add four more loudspeakers, Arkamys surround sound and SmartLink.
The Fabia has been awarded a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, and driver aids include Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Among the vehicle’s passive safety features are ISOFIX child-seat fixtures, child-proof door locks, seatbelt reminders and multiple airbags. The vehicle also comes with remote central locking.
