Local Reference History
Station Garage in Rudgwick was purchased by Tony and Rosemary Thorpe in 1973. The quintessential village garage, it supported the local community with new and used car sales, servicing, parts, MOT and fuel sales.
At the time, car sales at the garage was used cars only, then in 1986, following a brief stint as Dacia dealers, Tony and Rosemary took on the Škoda franchise. Sales steadily increased, as did the Škoda range and in 1995 the neighbouring building, at the time empty, was purchased to use as an extended showroom. At the same time the rest of the garage received an overhaul.
Over the next decade we cemented our status as a leading Škoda retailer in the south with sales reaching from Guildford and Leatherhead in Surrey across to Crawley and Haywards Heath in West Sussex and down to Brighton and Chichester on the south coast.
In 2004 we decided to move to a larger and more accessible site. The ex-Volkswagen site in Ewhurst was chosen due to its close proximity to the original site, not to mention the excellent layout and facilities.
That brings us up to the present. With 16 full-time staff currently employed by the retailer, Station Garage is well known and well respected by the local community and continues to grow from strength to strength.
